Nosara, Costa Rica is synonymous with Yoga.

Yoga improves flexibility, balance, and core stability, all of which help riders achieve a secure and effective seat in the saddle.

Breathing exercises and mindfulness techniques help riders manage stress, enhance focus, and cultivate a deeper connection with their equine partners. This ultimately leads to greater harmony and a more rewarding riding experience.

The horses at Playa Ponies are "Costa Rican Chill" - calm, reliable, and experienced on the beach, in the jungle, on the trail, and around traffic.

The herd is composed of various breeds including crossbred Criollo, Warmblood, Arabian, and Quarter Horse bloodlines. Criollo is a breed derived from horses that arrived with the Spanish in the 1500s. They average 15 hands and are sturdy, athletic, and sure-footed. Instead of carrots, they love mangos, and are sure to win your heart!

Enjoy a vibrant infusion of indigenous, Spanish, and African influences, featuring fresh, locally-sourced ingredients in every dish. The local staple is "gallo pinto" a flavorful combination of rice and black beans, often served with eggs, cheese or meat.

Tropical fruits like pineapple, mango, and papaya are abundant and frequently used. Seafood plays a significant role, with dishes like "ceviche" being popular and truly delicious. Costa Rican cuisine is known for its simple yet satisfying flavors that highlight the country's natural bounty.
